    Highland Co., VA by Morton, died 1846, married Sussana Lantz in 1810.

    Eleven children and their descendants from, Leaves From The Gum Tree, by
    Muriel Martens Hoffman, 1984, Fairbury, IL, Cornbelt Press. Adam was the only
    child of Jacob's eight children who remained in Virginia. All of the others
    migarated to new land in Ohio, Indiana and Missouri.

    Muriel Martens Hoffman, 1984, Fairbury, IL, Cornbelt Press. Daughter of John
    Lantz, naturalized in Frederick Co., VA, 1 Oct 1765, Order Book B. Adam Gum
    was a fifer in the 5th Regiment, Virginia Militia, War of 1812. Adam's will
    dated 31 Dec 1846, he died of typhoid in March 1857. Lived in the Crabbottom,
    which is now Blue Grass, Highland Co., VA.
