She was born Jan 25, 1915 at Elk Mt. a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Arbogast Starks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tracy Lambert. Surviving are 8 daughters, Dorothy, Mildred, Thelma, Bonnie, Barbara, Marilyn, Deborah, Sallie Lynn. 2 sons survive Lowell and Ottis one son Virgil preceded her in death. Lifetime resident of Bartow and Thornwood and was a member of the Thornwood Community Church. Services were held in Church at 1 pm with the Reb William Vandevander and the Reb Harold Sweeker officiating. Internment followed in the Lambert Cemetery at Elk Mt.

6. Robert Allen Starks was born in 1875 in Highland Co., Va; died in 1956; was buried in Starks Cemetery, Thornwood, Pocahontas Co., Wv. Notes:
Per Mildred Johnston, Robt. is the son of Adam Starks and Hannah (Shaffer)
Starks who was born in Germany. Adam served in the Civil War and is believed
to be buried by the railroad grade in Bartow, WV. As a young man, Robert
travelled to Missouri and back in a covered wagon with his parents. Mary and
Robert lived on Elk Mt. until 1917, at Phillipi, WV, 1917-1919, then moved to a
log cabin in Winterburn. In 1922 they bought 44 ac. in Thornwood from Roy
Houchin, cleared the land and built a house from an older house of Joe King.
Robt. worked for H. M. Hickman and Walter Gutshall as a sawyer. Robt. was also
a blacksmith with his shop at home in Thornwood. In 1931 Robt. married and had
a second family with Carrie Slayton Vandevander.

7. Mary Catherine Arbogast was born on 21 May 1884 in Elk Mountain, Pendleton Co., Wv (daughter of Isaac N. Arbogast and Sallie A. Waybright); died on 11 May 1930 in Pocahontas Co., Va/Wv; was buried in Starks Cemetery, Thornwood, Pocahontas Co., Wv. Notes:
Per Mildred Johnston, Mary died of a heart attack. She planted corn the day
before and made lots of rhubarb pies on the day she passed away leaving Sallie
and Fred as children at home. The Starks Cemetery was established above their
house on the home place. Mary is buried next to Robert.
