    Mrs. Lynn Turner is Vera Arbogast Turner and reports that Henry came to McLean
    Co, IL in 1838 but settled permanently in DeWitt Co., IL. She also indicates
    that Henry did not leave a will and in the estate settlement, his grandson,
    John Lewis shared in the estate since his (John Lewis' father), William, died
    before Henry.

    Received Land Warrants for service in War of 1812, but denied pension for
    insufficient time, Jun 1870, Special Order 19,120. Transcript of letter in
    file.

    Information from letter from Mrs. Lynn Turner of Bloomington, IL, to Amanda
    Arbogast Forbes. Lynn is descended through William's son, John Lewis and
    grandson, Rev. Wm. H. Arbogast, her father. Mary is daughter of Christian and
    Catharine (Colaw) Huffman. Catherine is the daughter of Daniel (of Valentine)
    Colaw, wife unknown.

    From the, Clinton, IL, Observer, 10 Feb 1982, copy in file. Christian Huffman
    is of German ancestry. At least two generations of the family lived in PA.
    Christian grew to manhood in that state an served four and one half years as a
    Revolutionary Soldier. Later he went to Virginia. When the war of 1812 broke
    out he enlisted and served 18 months. He lived to the age of four score, and
    his wife, formerly Miss Cole of Virginia, also lived to an advanced age. This
    couple had eight children. Solomon Huffman married in Randolph County, VA, now
    West Virginia.

    Migrated to Champaign Co., later Clark Co., OH about 1811. He later
    relocated to Madison Co., IN, about 1830-1831, where he died. Migrated to OH
    with brothers, Michael, Jr., and Peter. Peter remained in Ohio.

    MILITARY: Pvt., Capt. Peter Hull's Co., 2nd Bn., Augusta Militia, during
    Yorktown Campaign, 1781, page 148, Virginia Militia in the Revolutionary War,
    by McAllister.

    From "Mulanax - Bales" by Katherine and Alvin Mulanax, April 1980, pp. 83 &
    84, David is thought to have migrated to Madison Co., Indiana shortly after
    1830 with his family and other relatives, including his niece, Catherine
    Arbogast Mulanax (daughter of Michael Arbogast, Jr.), and her husband, Joseph
    Mulanax. The Mulanax' report that three Arbogasts bought land in Madison
    County in the 1830's, Jesse, Isaac and Jacob Arbogast. It is thought that
    they are sons of David Arbogast who came to Madison County about 1831.

    According to Vera Arbogast Turner (Mrs. Lynn Turner) of Bloomington, IL, David
    purchased land in Madison Co., IN in 1833. Vera is descended through the son,
    Henry, William, John Lewis and Rev. Wm. H. Arbogast, her father.
