    Holson Cem. #78, Madison Co., IN, lists a David Arbogast who died 4 May 1870,
    35yrs, 2mo., 22days. Also two daughters who died young, Nancy, J.E. Arbogast,
    dau. of David and Eliza, died 12 Feb 1862 5yrs, 5mo., 5days. Alice A.Arbogast,
    dau. of David and Eliza, died 19 Feb 1862 6yrs, 5mo., 24days. Record from Jean

    Migrated to Champaign Co., later Clark Co., OH about 1811. He later
    relocated to Madison Co., IN, about 1830-1831, where he died. Migrated to OH
    with brothers, Michael, Jr., and Peter. Peter remained in Ohio.

    MILITARY: Pvt., Capt. Peter Hull's Co., 2nd Bn., Augusta Militia, during
    Yorktown Campaign, 1781, page 148, Virginia Militia in the Revolutionary War,
    by McAllister.

    From "Mulanax - Bales" by Katherine and Alvin Mulanax, April 1980, pp. 83 &
    84, David is thought to have migrated to Madison Co., Indiana shortly after
    1830 with his family and other relatives, including his niece, Catherine
    Arbogast Mulanax (daughter of Michael Arbogast, Jr.), and her husband, Joseph
    Mulanax. The Mulanax' report that three Arbogasts bought land in Madison
    County in the 1830's, Jesse, Isaac and Jacob Arbogast. It is thought that
    they are sons of David Arbogast who came to Madison County about 1831.

    According to Vera Arbogast Turner (Mrs. Lynn Turner) of Bloomington, IL, David
    purchased land in Madison Co., IN in 1833. Vera is descended through the son,
    Henry, William, John Lewis and Rev. Wm. H. Arbogast, her father.

    Highland History, page 290. Settled prior to 1758 in VA.

    WILL: Probated in Pendleton Co., VA, 4 Aug 1812, now Highland Co., VA.

    BIRTH record from Evangelical Lutheran Church Records, Kehl, Baden, Germany

    Records of daughter, Mary, indicate Michael had two wives. Considering all
    available information, Mary was probably his first wife, Elizabeth his second.

    Naturalized in Augusta Co., VA, 22 Aug 1770, #117, Chalkleys Abstracts, Vol.
    I, p. 161.

    Records of Dr. Dunham indicate the possibility of another son, Joseph, b. 1769
    based on information from tax records, d. 1820 based on information in Morton's
    Pendleton Co. History. The Peter Arbogsast who married Henry Arbogast's daughter also not placed.

    Michael was baptized on 27 Sept 1732.

    "Take Wimer Mountain road from Blue Grass, at the intersection with Hardscrabble road, continue north on Wimer Mountain, go approximately 3/10 mile. On the left will be a pond. The two rocks marking the graves are on the right side of the road. The graves sit almost in the fence row, if the grass is high its difficult to see them from the road. "

    History of Pendleton (Highland Co.), by Morton, indicate Mary as wife. First
    public document found by Amanda Crawford Arbogast Forbes on wife of Michael is
    a deed in 1791 from Michael and Elizabeth to one of his sons. Elizabeth's
    signature appears on deed, documents, etc.

    was 1773; Augusta Co., VA. Also Deed Book 23, page 90, 17 Aug 1779, conveying
    property to Michael Armingcost. This area is now Blue Grass, Highland Co., VA.
    This information from, Records of Augusta Co., VA, Vol.III, by Chalkley, p.
    531, 560. Page 195, citing Will Book VI, records appraisment of the estate of
    Barnet Lance by Peter Hull, Jno. Gum, Sr. and Michael Armengash, 20 Sep 1791.
    In other books, Michael's sons married into the Hull and Gum families, so they
    were probably neighbors.

    Only Mary's given name is on record, her full name has not been proven by documents at this time.
