These children, by three wives, are as given in this reference. However,
the obituary for Mary P. Hinkle says that Emma Arbogast and Jessie Wooddell are
her sisters and Frona Williams and Freddie Thompson are her half sisters. It
also lists George Phares as Mary's brother (and gives some other sisters).
Assuming that Mary's parents were Solomon Phares and Mary Alice Harper (Myles'
third wife), then Jessie should have been called a half sister and Frona and
Freddie stepsisters. Myles' and Mary Alice's first sets of children each lost a
parent early; a son described Myles' children as being scattered, then brought
back together. It may well be that the various reporters didn't actually know
which set of children were which; and it may be that the reporters were using

Jeanee (Colaw) Howell of Sumter, SC. Shirley is the Archivist for the local
genealogical society.
Jacob was enlisted from Hardy Co., VA/WV 26 Jan 1814 in the second war with
Great Britain. He was discharged 23 Apr 1814 from Capt. Jethro Nevill's Co. of
the VA Militia. Shirley's book also details the eleven children of this
marriage and their descendants, including this line of her ancestors. Parents
of Jacob included.
