Notes:

Lived with his parents on a farm in OH, and at age 13 came with his parents to
IL, near Bloomfield. He attended school until age 18 and studied one winter in
the High School. Subsequently he was a student at Antioch College, Yellow
Springs, OH, for a year. He enlisted 1 Aug 1862 in D Co., 79th IL. Infantry,
musterin in as a Sergeant. He was the only member of his regiment to
participate in every battle in which it was engaged, 17 in all, some of which
were major battles. Mustered out as an Orderly Sergeant on 24 Jun 1865 at
Springfield, IL. Aleck was a very successful farmer and cattleman.

Alexander married Sarah A. Hazelton on 1 Jan 1869 in Edgar Twp., Edgar Co., Il. Sarah was born in in Chester, Nh. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Henry served in the War of 1812 then migrated to Clark Co., OH. In 1854 he
sold out and moved to Paris Twp., Edgar Co. IL where he farmed until his death.

Henry married Barbary Arbogast. Barbary (daughter of David Arbogast and Elizabeth Fleisher) was born on 9 Feb 1799 in Pendleton Co., Va; died on 19 Mar 1885 in Paris, Edgar Co., Il; was buried in Franklin Cem., Edgar Co., Il. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Migrated to Champaign Co., later Clark Co., OH about 1811. He later
relocated to Madison Co., IN, about 1830-1831, where he died. Migrated to OH
with brothers, Michael, Jr., and Peter. Peter remained in Ohio.

From "Mulanax - Bales" by Katherine and Alvin Mulanax, April 1980, pp. 83 &
84, David is thought to have migrated to Madison Co., Indiana shortly after
1830 with his family and other relatives, including his niece, Catherine
Arbogast Mulanax (daughter of Michael Arbogast, Jr.), and her husband, Joseph
Mulanax. The Mulanax' report that three Arbogasts bought land in Madison
County in the 1830's, Jesse, Isaac and Jacob Arbogast. It is thought that
they are sons of David Arbogast who came to Madison County about 1831.

According to Vera Arbogast Turner (Mrs. Lynn Turner) of Bloomington, IL, David
purchased land in Madison Co., IN in 1833. Vera is descended through the son,
Henry, William, John Lewis and Rev. Wm. H. Arbogast, her father.

David married Elizabeth Fleisher on 4 Jul 1785 in , Augusta, Virginia, United States. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
