Nathaniel married Mary Elizabeth Arbogast on 13 Jun 1872 in Pendleton Co., Wv. Mary (daughter of Cain Arbogast and Mary Ann Teter) was born about 1851 in Pendleton Co., Va/Wv; died about 1877 in Pendleton Co., Wv. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

BIRTH: Estimated from Pendleton Co., VA/WV Census of 1860.

Mary listed on 1850 and 1860 Census of Pendleton Co. is believed to have
become Elizabeth on 1870 Census since age compares and marriage reocrd was
located in 1872 for Elizabeth, daughter of Cain and Mary Arbogast, marriage to
Nathaniel Lamb, son of John and Mary Lamb. Elizabeth appears to have died
between 1870 and 1880. Nathaniel Lamb, widower, is listed as marrying Mahala
Arbogast (age 27 and single) on 14 Apr 1880. They are listed on 1880 Census
for Pendleton Co. with youngest child age 5. Mahala is Mary's sister.

Mahala Arbogast appears to be daughter of Eliel Arbogast RIN #45 and was
listed on 1860 Pendleton Co. Census as age 12.

MARRIAGE: From, Pendleton Co., WV Marriage Bonds, published by Mary Harter,
FASG.

CHILDREN: No record for son, John W., after 1860 Census.

DEATH: Last located on 1880 Census but he is believed to have lived until 1890
or later.

Letter to Amanda Arbogast Forbes in 1957 from Miss Kate Arbogast,
Charlottsaville, VA, tells of remembering Cain Arbogast. Miss Arbogast, born
in 1875, lived with her Uncle, Dr. Harper in Circleville and remembered when
they came for him when Cain had a son who froze to death in 1895. Her letter
would indicate that Cain might have been living at the time. She also
indicated that Cain and his brother, Eliel, lived up Big Run a mile or so.
Go to Cherry Grove, 3 mi. above Circleville, turn to the right and go up the
Run. They lived in 2 small log cabins on the hill side to the right, the
cabins only a few yards apart. The cabins were still there in 1930.

Cain married Mary Ann Teter on 9 Aug 1843 in Pendleton Co., Va/Wv. Mary was born in Jun 1826 in Pendleton Co., Va/Wv; died after 1900 in Nr Circleville, Pendleton Co., Wv. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
