    Source is Muriel Martens Hoffman letter. Lynn was a medical doctor and a
    member of the faculty at Indiana University. He was Mrs. Hoffmans daughter's
    advisor when she attended IU in 1960-1964 as a Medical Technician. Lynn then
    becane Director or Head of the Medical Technician Department at IU.

    Obit in Frances Arbogast files. Graduate of the Indiana University School of
    Medicine, Professor, and specialist in allied health services and pathology.
    Lt. Col, U.S. Army, WW II, C/O, 9th Med. Lab, CBI Theater. Survived by wife,
    Vivien, daughter Miss Ida Anne Arbogast, and son William F. Arbogast, all of
    Indianapolis. Another obit lists Mrs. Vera Turner, a sister surviving.

    grandson, Rev. Wm. H. Arbogast, her father. Rev. Arbogast was founder of the
    United Bretheren Church in Bloomington, IL, just northwest of the Illinois
    Wesleyan campus.

    Newspaper story of her 95th birthday celebration in file. Pantagraph,
    Bloomington - Normal, IL, Sun Dec 8, 1974, page C-16. The Church, Evangelical
    United Methodist, 400 W. Union, where her husband began his work in 1911, will
    celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the dedication of its sanctuary along with
    her birthday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lynn Turner, 211 W. Seminary.
    Rev. Arbogast retired in 1937, and they moved back to Bloomington. Rev.
    Arbogast had served many Churches in Illinois, including Conference
    Superintendent for southern Illinois beginning in 1920, which required almost
    constant travel.

    Source is History of Mc Lean County, Illinois, 1879, Published by Wm. Le
    Baron, Jr. & Co., p.p.951,952. Arrowsmith Township. According to this book
    there were 5 children born to this marriage, four were living in 1879, one,
    Birdie, died 15 May 1875. John was a farmer, Section 24, P. O. Saybrook, 180
    ac., born Mc Lean Co. 9 Sep 1844; lived on the farm, assisting his father. HIs
    father died when John was 16, his mother having died three years previously.
    John enlisted in 1861, G Co., 37th Illinois Volunteer Infantry. He saw
    service in Arkansas, Missouri, Louisiana and Texas. Discharged at
    Chicago, IL, 4 Oct 1864. He was School Director for 6 years, Collector for one
    tern, and was School Trustee in 1879. He was also Constable of the Township
    for 4 years.

    Cemetery record extract gives month of birth as October.
