    • BIRTH AND DEATH: From death record filed in Pendleton Co., WV and 1870 Census.
      Pendleton Co., WV 1880 Census indicates he was a twin to Esau. Also, letter
      from Miss Kate Arbogast, Charlottsville, VA to Amanda Arbogast Forbes in 1957.
      She remembered when this young man died because she was living with her uncle,
      Dr. Priest in Circleville when they asked him to come. Jacob and a cousin,
      Amos H. Arbogast, son of Eliel and Delilah Jane (Helmick) Arbogast, were hunting
      out at the "Sinks" and froze to death. Amos died that night. Jacob survived
      for 8 days after being froze.
