  BIRTH: Hannah and husband from 1870 Pendleton Co., WV census. DEATH: Last checked on 1880 Pendleton Co., WV census. MARRIAGE: No date located but marriage is listed in, History of Pendleton Co., WV, by Morton, under Arbogast, p. 332. Wife shown to be Hannah on 1870 and 1880 census. Further proof of their marriage is 1880 census which lists Sally Arbogast, age 76, mother-in-law, with their family. Marriage date estimated to be 1866 according to age of oldest child in 1870 census. Elijah was listed on 1860 census with Susan Bennett, age 36, while Hannah, single, was listed with parents. MILITARY: Elijah Bennett is probably the one listed under Company of Capt. John A. Snider and Capt. John S. Bond. See above referenced book, p. 405. These Companies were sympathetic to Federal cause. George Arbogast also listed under this group. NOTE: There is a Jacob A. Arbogast, age 11, 1870 census, listed with Elijah and Hannah Bennett who is same child, age 2, under family of Joseph and Sarah Arbogast on 1860 census. He has to have been a grandson since Sarah was age 58. Where this child fits is unknown. He could be a nephew of Hannah's or could be her child before marriage or a child of one of her sisters. He does not appear to be a child of any of Joseph and Hannah's sons and he does not appear on 1880 census in Pendleton Co., WV. See continuation under spouse!!!
