  From family group record by Amanda Arbogast Forbes. Jacob, his brother, Jesse, sisters, Mary and Ellenor and all their spouse of Fayette Co., OH, and sisters, Sarah and Eddy, and their spouse of Madison Co., IN, transfer by deed to Henry Gum, their interest in land owned by their mother following her death, dated 5 Sep 1839; Pendleton Co. Deed Book 14, p. 531. Jacob apparently migrated to Andrew Co., MO, in about 1840 probably by way of Bond Co., IL. From, Leaves From The Gum Tree, 1984, by Muriel Martens Hoffman, Samuel B. Gum, son and heir, appointed Administrator of Jacob Gum estate on 22 Dec 1871. Other heirs were the widow, Rachel, and Rachel Couch, Andrew Co., MO, and the heirs of Miles Gum in Bond Co., IL. Rochester Twp., Andrew Co., MO.
