  From Amanda Arbogast Forbes family group record 359. Death from Civil War Records. Joined Union Army at Beverly, WV, 16 Jun 1863 as Pvt., Battery G, 1st Rgt., WV Lgt. Arty. He was shot thru the chest at Rocky Gap, VA, 26 Aug 1863 and left in the hospital where he was taken prisoner. He was sent to Andersonville Confederate Prison where he died.
