Maxie Irvin 'Max' Arbogast Obituary



Maxie (Max) Irvin Arbogast, 84, of Stephenville, a retired Electrical Nuclear Engineer, died, February 19, 2011. Memorial Services February 26, 2011 at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Dollins officiating. Burial will be at Simmons Cemetery in Valley Head, West Virginia.

Maxie was born September 19, 1926, to the late Keefer and Minnie (Snyder) Arbogast, in Valley Head, West Virginia.

He married Paola Pasian on July 14, 1991.

He was a WW ll Army Veteran and a Korean War Air Force Veteran.

Max spent a happy childhood in the mountains of West Virginia. Max graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and received a Master of Business Administration from Drexel University. He continued his studies for a Master in Electrical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. Max worked at RCA, in Camden, NJ, with the Defense Electronics Products for the Apollo Space Program. He later worked for Stone & Webster Engineering until he retired in 1991. His love of history inspired him to research and pen two books about the history of West Virginia. He was an avid explorer, historian, and entrepreneur. He touched the lives of all those who came in contact with him.

Survivors include wife, Paola Arbogast of Stephenville, TX: three daughters, Michelle Georgescu and husband Frank of Vineland, New Jersey, Christian Geye and husband David of Dupont, WA, Farrah Garcia of Lubbock, TX. One son, Will Packwood of Austin, TX.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Lahn and husband Michael, Kimberly Mercogliana and husband Michael, Emryse Geye, Paul Geye, one great granddaughter, Kaelyn Lahn, and many loving nieces and nephews.
