  From THE JAMES PAPERS. Raised by her grandmother, Matilda Arbogast Mc Bride following the death of her mother. Following her marriage she lived in Springfield, OH for a few years, then Columbus, OH where her children were born. The family moved to Bellvue, MI for a short time then returned to Springfield. Beginning in 1947 she lived with her son, Theodore Burton James in Howe, Franklin and Clarksville, IN. When her son moved to California in 1955 she returned to Springfield and lived in a nursing home until her death in 1956. Marriage recorded, Clark Co., OH Probate Court, Book 19, p.304, # 1752.
