Notes - Information is from Janet (Perry) Sheldon research and family group record in
file. Sgt. Arbogast was a seven year veteran of the U. S. Air Force, an aerial
photographer during WW II. He was awarded the Air Medal with two oak lead
clusters, a Presidential Citation and was twice awarded the Purple Heart Medal.
When serving as a crewman on a B-29 Superfortress of the 15th Air Force his
plane and crew of 13 were killed when the plane crashed in England. He was
survived by his mother, Harriet A. Arbogast of 1222 Highland Rd., Charleston;
his father, Bert Arbogast, a patient in Veterans Hospital since WW I; his wife,
Patricia Edens Arbogast; two daughters, Donna Kay and Janet Rae; two sisters,
Miss Lois Jean Arbogast of Charleston and Mrs. C. W. Stallworth of Louisville,
KY; and a brother, William Bert Arbogast of Charleston. Obituary and family
