- This information is from Janet (Perry) Sheldon's research and family group
family group records. Janet's records contain an obituary indicating Mr.
Arbogast was a well known Charleston food caterer who died instantly Sunday at
1 p.m. when his auto crashed head-on into a tractor-trailer at milepost 46 on
the West Virginia Turnpike about 10 miles north of the Beckley interchange. He
operated the kitchen and dining rooms of the Charleston Press Club, managed
Woodrum's Tea Room and owned the Arbogast Catering Service. Mr. Arbogast lived
at 010 Chappell Rd. His wife, Louise , gave birth to a daughter, Deborah Lou, a
week prior to his death. An older child, Diana Sue, also survives. He was a
member of the Boyd Memorial Christian Church, Elks Lodge and Gourmet Club.
Other survivors are his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Albert Arbogast of Charleston, and
two sisters, Mrs. Kendall Perry of St. Albans and Mrs. C. Watson Stallworth of
Atlanta, GA. Janet's file also contains family photos.
