  From the, Clinton, IL, Observer, 10 Feb 1982. Minerva was a resident of Kankakee at the time Daniel attained majority. He was farming at the time. Minerva's parents were John Adam Grenade and Catherine (Johnson) Payne. Minerva was only six months old when her parents moved to Vermillion County, IL, where her father established and operated a tan yard for many years. He then moved to Will County, now Kankakee County, IL.
