Notes - Jesse Edgar Arbogast was killed in action by the explosion of a high explosive shell, while fighting in Belgium in the Lys-Scheldt offensive. His death occurred Nov. 1, 1918. He had been serving as a private in Co. D. 361st Inf., 91st Div. Private Arbogast had entered service early in the war and trained at camp Lewis,Washington. He went overseas July 7, 1918. He was the son of L. D. Arbogast, Miller, S.D., and at the time of his death was 26 years old.
