of the oldest pioneer families of DeWitt Co., IL, and is now actively engaged
in the manufacture of brick, tile, cement, etc. His plant is located at Farmer
City, IL, one of the most important industries here. He was born about one and
one half miles northwest of Farmer City. An older brother, Amos L. Arbogast
learned the trade, and with another younger brother, all three worked together.

Dove of San Antonio, TX. Complete names of 6 children and some spouse.
Barbara's notes indicate Silas' original will is in the Logan County
Genealogical Society files. Silas lived in Clark Co., OH, (Cincinnati, OH, land
office records 28 Jan 1835, Range 8, Twp. 12, Sect. 32) before he moved to Logan
County. Logan Co. formed 1818 from Champaign County. Silas tombstone standing
and inscription legible. The cemetery is on a hill overlooking the Miami River
Valley a few miles from the farm where he lived most of his life. Birth
records were not required in the early 1800's in Ohio. 		 arbo

Houndhead Village in Hardin Co., OH. According to Rosemary's extract from "The
History of Hardin Co., OH" by Warner & Beers, Chicago, Solomon was as early
settler of Roundhead Twp. settling on Scioto Marsh where he farmed and then in
the Bowdle settlement. They then lived in Roundhead Village where he was
involved in teaming until his death. Member of the Society of the Bowdle Church
which was affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal Church. He and Mary had four
sons and five daughters, seven living in 1883, four in Roundhead Village. 		 arbo

birth, death, and burial for this family. Neither Solomon's nor Nancy's grave

file. In the letter Mrs. Kenny cites the 1870 and 1880 Randolph Co. census
where John, Solomon's father was living near him. John's age, 1870 was 66 and
1880, 75. Also Solomon was in Webster Co., WV on the 1860 census with the
first four of his children.
